Can same-sex couples get married in Montenegro?

Let's be honest: same-sex marriage can't be registered in Montenegro. The country's constitution defines marriage as a union of a man and a woman. What Montenegro does have is a law on same-sex life partnerships, in force since 15 July 2020, so a partnership can be registered legally.

You can still celebrate your wedding exactly the way you dream of. Exchange rings, say your vows somewhere beautiful and hold a symbolic ceremony with your family and friends. A wedding planner can walk you through what registering a partnership would involve for you as a couple.
