To get married in Montenegro, both the bride and groom will need to provide the following documents:
- Valid passports
- Birth certificates
- Certificates of no impediment to marriage issued by their respective countries (this is also known as a single status certificate or a certificate of celibacy)
- Divorce decree (if applicable)
- Death certificate of previous spouse (if applicable)
All documents must be translated into Montenegrin and legalized with an apostille stamp. The apostille stamp is a certification that verifies the authenticity of the document, and it must be obtained from the government agency in the country where the document was issued.
In addition to these documents, you will also need to provide two witnesses who are over 18 years old and have valid identification.
