Montenegro in September
This is a full-fledged continuation of the summer. After 5-10 sept, all youth finallyand all families with children whose school year has begun, leave. The most peacful time begins. The days are not so hot, but the beach season is still going on. The sea is gentle, the water is warm. The air is fresh at night. No traffic jams, no crowds of people on the embankments.
When is the best time to go to Montenegro?
I always answer that in September.

The brightest, fiery, red.
🍂What to do in autumn in Montenegro? ⠀
🍁 Visit the oyster farm in Boka Kotorska Bay, while the season of mussels and oysters is still
🍁 Ride a yacht along the bay on a sunny warm day. While the air is still not very cold, the trip will be a lot of pleasure. In addition, everything looks completely different from the water.
🍁 Or go on a similar ride on SUP, which can be rented. Choose a warm and windless day without waves, then you definitely do not freeze. You don’t have to fall into the water.
🍁Where to go in the fall in Montenegro?
🍁Go to one of the wineries. You can catch the grape harvest, or in any case try the local wine, get acquainted with the local flavor and traditions. Many wineries are located in the Virpazar and Skadar Lake area.
🍁Visit one of the national parks. Just remember that the farther north and higher, the colder, especially at night, so be sure to take warm clothes. Parks: Lovchensky, Durmitor, Beogradskaya Gora, Prokletie. The colors of autumn will not leave anyone indifferent.
🍁If you wanted to warm up in one of the local restaurants or cafes, then you will not find mulled wine here. Instead, ask for “koovuno veeno”, here it is called so)
🍁No one has canceled visits to old cities: Bar, Kotor, Ulcinj, Perast, Budva.
There are many photos of the golden autumn in Lovcen Park
What to do in the rain in Montenegro?
🌧☔️But what to do in the rain?
Alas, there is not much entertainment. In addition to eating and drinking, drinking and eating, you can:
💧 Go to the SPA in one of the hotels. Usually a day costs about 20-30 euros / person. Sauna, swimming pools are available.
💧Go to the cinema if you understand English. After all, here all the films are in their original language.
💧Go like shopping in Delta City in Podgorica. “Like” — because shopping here: “well, such a thing.”
💧Go to the casino, there are plenty of them in every city.
🍂Go to autumn… ⠀
Yes, we say so, because everything on the coast remains green even in winter. But, if you want to plunge a little into the colors of autumn, then you need to go to the mountains. It’s good when the mountains are just an hour’s drive from home)
For many, the National Park Lovcen is just the same view of the Bay of Kotor or the Mausoleum of Njegoš, but there are other fun here — the whole tourist complex @ivanova_korita. Of course, since this is a national park, you have to enjoy nature here. ⠀
🍁 There are a couple of hotels and restaurants, for example @hotel_ivanov_konak and @hotel_monte_rosa. The latter even has an indoor pool. ⠀
🍁 There is an Adventure park @avanturisticki_park_lovcen for children from 5 years old. We have not been, but we heard very cool reviews. ⠀
🍁 There are a lot of places with tables and benches for barbecue and other picnics. ⠀
🍁 You can play paintball, rent ATVs or go hiking. ⠀
🍁 You can get here from Cetinje even with two roads: through the reserve itself, or through the bypass road that leads to Njegushi. It has been restored. ⠀
❄️ It snows here in winter, sometimes there is a lot of snow, so you can also try skiing and sledging. But this is already about “going into the winter” — so we also say. Because while everything is green and palm trees on the shore, in three hours by car you can go skiing or snowboarding, and generally plunge into a winter fairy tale in Zabljak or Kolashin.
