Summer series from Old Town in Budva Montenegro
In front of the old town in a quiet harbor there is home for very small boats and large yachts. On the boats sit drivers and call for a boat trip around the island of St. Nicholas or further to Milocer and Sveti Stefan. In the end of waterfront there is one nice bar with perfect pizza and interesting menu - Old fisherman's pub. Can recommend it)
Most of the lower floors are occupied by restaurants, cafes and shops. On the remaining floors there are apartments for rent. Somewhere, of course, live locals. But it is good to live in the old city only in the summer. In the winter, very high humidity, ventilation in many old houses isn’t normal, because of that there is a big problem with dampness and mold. In summer, comfort can be disturbed by walking young people at night and music from bars. In the photo session, we usually go early in the morning (about 8 a.m.).
How old town Budva looks from fortress wall you can see here
Despite of the old town in Budva is very small and all the streets and houses are made of stone, it is very green. Below is a view of Budva Bay, which opens next to the Citadel. You can go there for 4 euro/person and enjoy of views on red tiled roofs of houses and beautiful turquoise sea around.
Church of the Holy Trinity, built in 1804.
Very small Church of St. Sava of Jerusalem, built in 1141.
Narrow streets, cozy courtyards
I love houses, that twined ivy. And how beautiful this house is in autumn, the ivy becomes fiery red.
