Where to hold your wedding at Heritage Grand Perast

A wedding at Heritage Grand Perast can unfold across several spaces, and the largest of them holds up to 150 guests. The hotel has an open square at its center, a panoramic terrace overlooking the bay, a restaurant for the reception, and a terrace right by the water. The feel is elegant, set within old walls, not a banquet in a big resort complex out of town.

The Piazza is the heart of the hotel: an open square at its center where both the ceremony and the cocktails or reception take place. On the square stands a small church, and a ceremony by it looks lovely. This is the largest space, up to 150 guests, and it is usually the choice for a big wedding. It helps that the ceremony and reception happen in one place, so guests don't have to move anywhere between parts of the day.

The Panoramic Terrace is smaller and more intimate, up to 60 guests, but it opens onto a view of the bay. Couples pick it for a ceremony or reception at a smaller celebration. You can also hold the reception in the hotel restaurant, with its kitchen and wine list, while the Riva Terrace and the dock by the water are lovely for cocktails and the couple's portraits.

A rough timeline for a wedding day in Perast

Every wedding has its own rhythm, but a summer day in Perast, the way we often see it, tends to look like this. Treat it as a guide, not the hotel's program: you'll pin down the exact hours with your planner, around your own wedding.

1. Around 11:00, getting ready. The bride and groom prepare while we photograph the details, the makeup, and the first emotions.
2. In the afternoon, welcoming guests. Often there is no separate first look: the groom greets the guests, and the couple see each other for the first time at the ceremony. If you want a private moment before the ceremony, for a few frames without guests, it is worth arranging in advance.
3. 17:00, the ceremony. A symbolic or civil ceremony by the church on the Piazza, or an outdoor one on the square or the Panoramic Terrace.
4. 18:00, cocktails. Guests with glasses in hand on the Piazza or on the Riva Terrace by the water, candid frames and congratulations.
5. The couple's portraits before sunset. We slip away with the couple for 20 to 30 minutes on a beautiful boat or over to the old facades, while there is still light on the bay.

Our main tip for a couple in Perast: budget a short portrait shoot on a beautiful, stylish boat. Those are the best frames of the whole wedding.

From the water, Perast looks different: old palazzo facades, bell towers, and green mountains behind you. We approach Our Lady of the Rocks and catch the golden hour, when the sun drops behind the mountains and the water turns warm in color. On a beautiful boat it is just the two of you, no guests and no fuss, so the frames come out alive and calm. Half an hour on the boat lets the couple step out of the day's bustle, and you can see it in the photos.

Thirty to forty minutes is enough, and better a little before the actual sunset than right at it: in Perast the sun slips behind the mountains long before the official sunset, so agree on the shoot time with your planner and photographer in advance. A beautiful boat is usually something your wedding planner helps arrange.
