Bajova Kula Wedding Venue on the Bay of Kotor

If you are choosing where to get married on the Bay of Kotor, Bajova Kula will almost certainly catch your eye. It is a wedding venue right on the water between Kotor and Perast, and I, Mariia, have shot real weddings here. Let me tell you about the Bajova Kula wedding venue honestly and to the point: where the ceremony happens, how many guests it holds, how you book it, and what matters most about light and weather. Bajova Kula among Montenegro wedding venues

The venue sits on the Bay of Kotor, on the water between Kotor and Perast. If you compare types of venue, a villa gives you privacy behind a fence, a hotel tucks guests under a roof and into rooms, while Bajova Kula gives you an open path to the water and a ceremony right on the bay. That is its strength and its limit at the same time: almost everything here happens under the open sky.

Who it suits: couples who want a wedding venue on the Bay of Kotor with a view of the water and the mountains, not a banquet hall. On weekdays Bajova Kula is also known as a beach club on the bay, but for a wedding the venue is booked out in full. The ceremony on the white stone pier

The ceremony takes place on a white stone pier that reaches out into the water. Behind the couple lies the open bay and the mountains on the far shore, with nothing extra to either side. The light is soft and open, and the photos come out airy, because there is only water and sky behind you.

What matters is that the pier works for both a symbolic ceremony and an official, legally binding registration. In other words, you can genuinely make it official right here at the venue, without going off somewhere separate.

Reception, dinner and capacity

Terraces, lounge and dance floor

The reception takes place at the venue by the water. There are two terraces and a lounge area with sofas, room for round tables and string lights overhead, a separate dance floor with a DJ zone, and a bar serving wine, cocktails and spirits. Everything is compact and in one place, so guests do not need to move between the ceremony, dinner and dancing.

Dinner and menu

Dinner is cooked in the on-site restaurant and served as catering for your guests, rather than as a separate place everyone walks to on their own. The kitchen is Mediterranean: seafood and vegetarian dishes. You agree the menu and the order of service in advance together with the venue.

Capacity

The venue is set up for 100-150 guests. That is a comfortable size for a ceremony on the pier and dinner on the terraces. If you are closer to 150, it is best to plan the seating in advance with your organizer: there is enough room, but not a lot to spare.

How the venue is booked

The model is simple. To hold a wedding here, the venue is booked out in full for your day. The ceremony, dinner and bar are run by Bajova Kula itself, and no outside vendors for food and drink are brought in. I will not name an exact price: it comes together from the guest count, the menu and the season. One important point. Bajova Kula is responsible for the place and the service, but someone still has to pull the wedding itself together. You will need a wedding organizer to take on the dates, the contract, the decor, the timing, the paperwork and the guest logistics. Without one, running everything smoothly is almost impossible.

Season and a wedding in the rain

The best months for a wedding here are May, June, September and October. In summer the pier is hot and very bright, while in the shoulder season the light is softer and there are fewer people around the bay.

Now, honestly, about the weather. There is no covered hall for 150 people at the venue. In heavy rain or wind, the roofed space holds about 100 guests, and even that is tight. But this does not mean rain will ruin the day. We shot one of the weddings here in a downpour, and it turned out warm and full of life. I showed what that looks like in a separate album, "50 Shades of the Rain". Rain is not a verdict, just a different scenario, and one you are better off preparing for in advance.

Shooting at the venue: light and ceremony timing

From a photographer's point of view, the pier comes with one honest trade-off on timing. Schedule the ceremony for early evening and the couple stands in direct sun: the shots are bright, but there is a lot of squinting. Move it later and the pier falls into shade, but the water and sky behind you almost bleach out to white. There is no perfect golden hour here that solves everything at once. There is a choice, and it is best made in advance with your photographer and organizer.
