Bali. Place where dreams came truth
Bali will be always special for me. Here there is no useful information about sightseeng. It's just box of memories from our trip in Bali in 2016-2017 like tourists, because now we live in Montenegro.
Bali. Bali is a special island for me. The island where my main dream came true. The island, which gave so much emotion, how many did not give any other place, and will not give in the future. It was Bali that erased the boundaries and showed that everything is possible the way you want.
This is one of islands near Lombok. The word Gili means island. And this group includes: Trawangan, Air and Meno. We decided to go to Gili Air, because we had not been there before. Tourists love these islands, also because it is, so to speak, a legalize territory.
So like all these inscriptions. Save the water ... drink beer ...
My favorite beach in Bali. For bright blue water, for the waves, for the species. For sun beds you can bargain. Many surfers come here to catch the wave, there are a couple of schools, you can take an instructor, but for beginners, probably not the best beach. If you go from the parking to the right along the coast, then you will enjoy beautiful views from above on the beach and surroundings.
К вечеру начинается сильный отлив. Ну и, конечно, закат тут тоже можно поймать феерический.
A little before the beach on the right side of the road there is a cool cafe with ottomans and a swimming pool - Cafe La Pasion. Breakfast there were excellent. Our 1 January 2017.
This city has become a place of people’s creative pilgrimage, passionate about yoga, meditation and other spiritual practices. And the film "Eat. Pray. Love" (strangely, not a book), flooded this city with ladies, who cut through bicycles in search of Havier Barden. Over the past few years there has been a direct breakthrough in the development of this city, and this time it seemed to me very nice and cozy. Tourists in Ubud travel mostly to look at rice terraces. You can also go on a walking tour of the rice fields, as well as visit the temple complex with a lot of monkeys - Monkey Temple. Monkeys are arrogant, so take care of the little things: glasses, bracelets, pendants and even bags. And before you go, take any stick, it helps them to drive away.
Еще в Убуде и его окрестностях теперь множество крутых отелей с бассейнами с видом на рисовые террасы. Тишина и спокойствие.
Hidden Canyon Beji Guwang - Secret Canyon of Sukawati
Cool place with a small number of tourists. The entrance ticket costs some cents. At the entrance they try to impose a guide, but we refused, because did not understand what was next. Descended at the mouth of the river, it looks cool. Further there is a canyon itself - rocks cut by water. The guide caught up with us, he said that it was possible to go further, but better with an assistant, we bargained for 100,000 rupees from the 4th. And we did not regret it.
1. The guide offered his waterproof backpack for our phones.
2. The guide knows how best to go through difficult places. Where it seems that you can just put your feet in the water and walk along the bottom, the depth is more than 2 meters. At some point we passed the place, using the foot of the guide as a support.
3. Having reached the end of the sleeve (there are 3 of them), we decided that we had enough. I wanted to take some photos in a bathing suit. But, I had little time. The fact is that there is a dam in Ubud. Excess water at the opening of the locks is just for these canyons. The water level increases by 2-3 times. To get into this mess is extremely unpleasant and very dangerous, we were shown many scars. The guys are not just sitting there for the money. They keep track of everyone who bought a ticket and check that everyone comes out. Before opening the locks, they are informed, then they put on vests and go to pull tourists out of the canyon.
We were in the winter at the height of the rainy season. Probably why the water is so dirty. On the Internet in the photo I saw that it can be blue.
It's time to have lunch, no? Move to Seminyak - one of the most tourist areas of Bali. Cafes, bars, restaurants, many villas, hotels and shops.
But we wanted to eat. And we will go to The Bistrot. The restaurant is located on Jalan Kaya Aya Street. You know, before in Bali it was somehow difficult with the kitchen. The places where were really tasty could be counted on fingers. During this visit it seemed to me that everything had become much better.
Perhaps there would be more pictures of food here if I took more pictures of food. But it seems to me that this is so ridiculous. People are hungry, they sit waiting for food, and here they bring yummy food, and you are like this: "wait, wait, I need to take a picture, do not touch anything. Well, how can you? I can not do that.
The food here is tasty, a good selection of wine, good service and reasonable prices. The combination of price / quality is almost ideal.
I can also advise:
Restaurant Gado Gado - located right on the waterfront. Excellent for both breakfasts and dinners. Try fish soup here.
Caffe Moka - ideal for breakfast. Try a beef sandwich in a croissant. With the salmon, too, nothing.
Cafe La Pasion - in the Uluwatu area, just before reaching the Balangan beach.
Sushi Hana on Sunset Road is a huge selection of rolls and other delicious fresh Japanese food.
Sundays Beach Club
In Bali, there are many scourge clubs. And I can advise this one. At the entrance you have to pay a deposit, part of which you can spend in a restaurant on the shore. You will be given towels. Down you can go down with the funicular. Delicious food, beautiful sea, pleasant music, sea fun. A great option to spend the day by the sea.
Aling-Aling Waterfall (Air Terjun Aling-Aling)
We went to this waterfall a second time. And not because of the waterfall, but because of the Shanti Natural Panorama View Hotel Bar and Restaurant, which is nearby and offers cute bungalows in national Balinese style. The hotel itself is very green with a large territory.
From parking to the waterfall isn't long way. However, it is better to have comfortable non-slippery shoes. At the entrance, the guys will ask you for money, suggest 2 options: just take a walk or jumping - jump from the waterfalls. Previously, the entrance was completely free and no one was watching the tourists. But, some day there was an accident. The waiter at the hotel explained everything to us from their bell tower: “if a man died in this river, the water in it became unclean, apparently, as well as the adjacent territories. To purify water, you need to make a lot of "ceremonies” that are very, very expensive . " The waterfall is considered sacred.
Alin-Aling waterfall is the largest in this group - about 30 meters. Below are a few waterfalls are not so high. It seems that they are not that big until you come up from the top and look down, you don't want to jump right away). There is a cave behind Aling-Aling, but you have to be extreme to get there.
The humidity here is off scale. There is a risk of being completely wet. Walking back is not easy, so do not forget to take water with you.
Pura Besakih Temple
The main temple in Bali. Although, in the guidebooks, we read about almost every temple, this one is really worth a visit. At the entrance you will be offered a guide, except for entrance tickets. Take it. The only thing at the end of the tour, the guide will ask to tip him, so keep this in mind, and if you do not want to get into an uncomfortable position, put only the amount in the wallet that you give. Not all guides speak English very well, but it is the guides who know exactly where to go, and where not, where the "ceremony" is now going and it’s better not to go there. We checked it out on our own skin. Still, the Balinese are very religious and many of them try to preserve the uniqueness and secrecy of their beliefs.
There are many more cool and interesting places that you can talk about for a long time and a lot. Well, I finished my story with a few more photos - just for memories.
